Not What They Expected(Maria/Derek)

Maria drove from her doctors appointment straight to Derek's house with tears in her eyes. She hadn't been feeling well recently so she went to the doctor and found out she was two months pregnant. She was terrified. What if Derek didn't think the baby was his? What if he left her? She got out of the car and walked up to the door and knocked.

She was about to find out.

[Derek Hayes]

Derek looked up from his laptop when he heard a knock on the door. Not expecting anyone, he got up and answered the door and saw Maria.

"Hey babe. Uh...this is a surprise." Derek said.

[Maria Kanellis]

Maria sniffled and wiped her eyes.

"We need to talk," Maria said.

[Derek Hayes]

"What's going on?" Derek asked, concerned as he stepped aside to let Maria in.

Maria walked inside and turned to face Derek.

"I'm pregnant," Maria said.

Derek looked at Maria in shock and cleared his throat.

"You're what?" He asked, thinking he had heard Maria wrong.

"I'm pregnant," Maria said again. "With twins."

(thought I'd throw Derek another curveball lol)

[Derek Hayes]

Derek shook his head as he sat down on the staircase beside him in disbelief.

(Poor Derek. lol.)

"Talk to me," Maria pleaded.

[Derek Hayes]

"How is this even possible?" Derek asked.

[Maria Kanellis]

"The party, a couple months ago," Maria said.

[Derek Hayes]

Derek looked up at Maria, not really remembering much from that night.

"That had to have been it Derek," Maria said.

[Derek Hayes]

"This isn't making any sense Ria." Derek said.

[Maria Kanellis]

"Well it's happening and there's nothing we can do to change that!" Maria said as she started to cry again.

Derek sighed, running his hands over his hair as he tried to process all of this.

'So where does this leave us?" Maria asked.

[Derek Hayes]

"Pregnant." Derek muttered.

[Maria Kanellis]

"But where does it leave us Derek?" Maria said. "You're not leaving me are you?"

[Derek Hayes]

"No, I'm not leaving you." Derek said.

[Maria Kanellis]

Maria nodded and began to pace.

[Derek Hayes]

Derek looked down at the floor.

Maria sighed.

[Derek Hayes]

"I'm sorry if I seem like an ass right now, I just really wasn't ready for this." Derek said.

"You think I was?" Maria asked.
