Injured Again (Melina and Dave)

[Melina Perez]

Melina sat on the doctor's table clutching her ankle with tears in her eyes. She'd never hurt so badly in her life.

[Dave Batista]

Dave quickly rushed through the doors. He had heard from a few crew members that Melina had been hurt after performing in a match and though the words had been short, that was all he needed to hear.

When he came to see Melina on the doctor's table, he quickly rushed over toward her. "Melina! I heard what happened!" He told, out of breathe.

"Are you okay? What did the doctor tell you?" He rambled, still out of breathe.

"They....haven't looked...at it yet," Melina struggled to get her words out through her pain. "I think it's broken though, it.....hurts like hell."

[Dave Batista]

Dave attempted to control his breathing as he rubbed his forehead.

"They haven't looked at it, yet?" He repeated in disbelief, completely hating to see her in so much pain. "What are they getting paid for?" Dave shook his head and walked over toward the medicine supplies to grab ice and wrap it in plastic.

"Here, this should smooth the pain out a bit."

[Melina Perez]

Melina wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Thank you," Melina sniffled.

[Dave Batista]

"It'll all be okay, Mel." He tried to confide as he gently rubbed her back.

"I'm tired of getting injured," Melina sighed.

[Dave Batista]

He sighed. "I know you are, and I know the feeling. I've been down the same road a few times myself. It isn't easy, but sometimes you just have to sit out."

"I've been on the sidelines of ages Dave!" Melina stressed.

[Dave Batista]

"And still, the fans never forget about you while you are gone. And, you're always better than ever when you come back."

[Melina Perez]

Melina nodded. "You think so?" Melina asked.

[Dave Batista]

"Of course, Mel. You're the most talented diva out there. None of those other Divas can compare to your craft, you know that."

[Melina Perez]

Melina blushed.

"Thanks Dave," Melina said.

[Dave Batista]

He slightly grinned at her smile.

"Anytime, Mel. I hate to see a beautiful woman down on herself."

[Melina Perez]

"You think......you think I'm beautiful?" Melina asked.

[Dave Batista]

He looked at her in disbelief.

"Of course. Melina, you're gorgeous. Anyone can see that."

[Melina Perez]

"My ex couldn't," Melina muttered.

[Dave Batista]

Dave stared in disbelief. "He must've been blind. Or, stupid. Or, both."

[Melina Perez]

"He.......he beat me," Melina sniffled.

[Dave Batista]

"He what?!" Dave immediately yelled out, almost causing an echo in the room. His protective behavior over Melina immediately kicked in.

[Melina Perez]

Melina whimpered, slightly scared when Dave raised his voice.

[Dave Batista]

Dave ran his fingers down his face before he inhaled a deep breath.

"I'm sorry, Melina. I was just a bit, surprised." He told, attempting his best to remain in a calm tone. "Who exactly is this guy, anyway?"

[Melina Perez]

"His name was Josh," Melina said softly.

[Dave Batista]

Dave made a memo of the name to himself - and prepared himself to ask some of her friends about this 'Josh-kid' later on.

Meanwhile, Dave only shook his head and gently rubbed Melina's back.

"Men like that don't deserve you, Melina."
